The Project
FELT OVERLAY
Prominently situated on Clifton Avenue in Billingham. The school consists of a two story building dating back to the 1960’s with the original flat felt roof.
- 410m² Overlay of existing built up felt roof
- 4 week contract duration
Client Problems:
The building had been experiencing a large amount of water ingress through the felt roofs over a long period. The original roof had very low thermal value in comparison with today’s standards and a large amount of heat was being lost through the flat roof. Thus a combination of a roof that leaked in any inclement weather and one that resulted in excessive heating costs for the school through poor insulation.
Solution:
Roofclad provided a new SIGnature Specification 25 year fully insulated overlay felt roofing system. The client has now a single point labour and material backed warranty that will cover them for any waterproofing issues over the next 25 years.
The specification used was a SIGnature built up felt system with insulation meeting today’s building regulations.
