The Project

Turner Bianca, a world leader in home textiles supplying major retailers across the UK and internationally, instructed us to refurbish the entire roof of their manufacturing facility in Oldham. Following a technical site survey, a fully built-up flat roofing system was identified as the best solution. The new roof was designed to be solar-ready, allowing the client to add solar panels in the future.

Client Problems

The existing roof system required replacement to ensure long-term durability and improved energy efficiency. At the same time, the works needed to be completed without disrupting the ongoing operations of the busy manufacturing facility.

Our Solution

We implemented a solar-ready, built-up flat roofing system designed for energy performance and durability:

  • Prepared the roof area through thorough cleaning and preparation.
  • Installed a 50mm Sopratherm G power deck thermal insulation board to improve efficiency.
  • Applied a bituminous primer and a layer of Polyglass 3kg torch-on polyester glass fibre.
  • Completed the system with Polyglass 4.5kg SBS polyester green mineral roofing felt, creating a durable and waterproof finish.
  • The facility remained fully operational throughout, with minimal disruption to production.
    Outcome
  • The completed project delivered a durable, solar-ready flat roofing system that significantly improved energy efficiency and waterproofing, ensuring long-term protection for the client’s facility.

Client Feedback

“The professionalism and expertise demonstrated by the Roofclad Systems’ team exceeded our expectations. The seamless coordination to the project ensured that our operations faced minimal disruption. We couldn’t be more pleased with the roof installation.”
