Reirse Ryan Limited, a UK-based construction firm, commissioned Roofclad Systems to refurbish the roof of the former Wilko unit at the One Stop Shopping Centre in Birmingham. The project focused on preventing further roof deterioration while enhancing long-term durability.

The existing roof was deteriorating and required a protective solution to prevent further damage. The client also needed improved guttering and replacement rooflights to ensure functionality and structural integrity.

Our team implemented a full encapsulation solution:

• High-pressure washed the roof to remove dirt, grease, and debris.
• Sealed all joints using Girosil SE and Girosil RC to create a robust, watertight seal.
• Applied Girosil RC (renamed Giromax® Roofcoat) at a minimum thickness of 200 microns for optimal long-term protection, backed by a 25-year guarantee.
• Replaced existing rooflights with durable GRP rooflights to improve natural lighting.
• Cleared gutters and downpipes of debris and relined gutters using Girosil Gutter RC-G at a rate of 2m² per litre.
