The Project
WALL OVERCLADDING WORKS
This office and warehouse complex is based in Prudhoe
- 400m2 Overcladding of the existing brickwork
- 250m2 of Strip Asbestos Cement cladding and re-new with metal profiled built up system wall cladding
- 2 week contract duration
Client Problems:
The client wished to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the wall façade which can be viewed by the general public without great expense.
The gable end asbestos cement cladding was in poor condition resulting in excessive heat losses.
Solution:
The solution provided for the client to the brick wall area was to overclad the existing brick wall with new 0.7mm plastisol coated steel profiled cladding complete with flashings around all the apertures, doorways and windows.
The solution provided for the client to the gable end wall cladding was to strip and recover the wall with a new bright white liner sheet followed by 180mm of glass fibre insulation, support bars fixed to the main structure and an external profiled plastisol coated steel sheet.
