Heathcote Fabrics commissioned Roofclad Systems to replace the roof of their Tiverton facility. The project was scheduled to align with the factory’s annual two-week shutdown, ensuring production was not impacted.

• Strict timeframes required all work to be completed within the shutdown period.
• Existing roof and northern light glazing needed removal and replacement without damaging production equipment.
• The project required safe handling of asbestos-containing materials.

• Installed fully boarded external walkway scaffolding with safety netting for internal operative protection and two-layer debris netting to safeguard machinery.
• Stripped and replaced an average of 200m² of roof and glazing per day with new composite panel and polycarbonate system.
• Completed internal clean-down after each phase.
• Handed the building back to the client with 24 hours to spare, allowing production to resume on schedule.
• Returned the following year to complete another phase of replacement roofing.
