Sytner Bentley Motors Dealership, Leicester

Knight Frank LLP appointed Roofclad Systems to refurbish the roof and gutters of the Sytner Bentley Motors Dealership in Leicester. The project aimed to extend the lifespan of the roof, improve watertightness, and deliver a modern, aesthetically appealing roofing system for the showroom and workshop facilities.

The existing roof was nearing the end of its useful life, with water leaks, avian damage, and deteriorating parapet capping panels. The eaves gutter was clogged with debris, and the canopy roof was retaining water. The client required a durable solution that improved energy performance, ensured safety, and maintained ongoing business operations.

• Our team implemented a comprehensive overcladding and refurbishment programme:
  Installed a 230mm insulation layer (compressing to 200mm) on the pitched roof in compliance with Building Regulations L2B, including new Z rails attached to the existing purlins.
• Fitted 0.7mm profile single-skin metal sheeting with a side lap for strength and rigidity, made from hot-dipped galvanised steel with 0.2mm PVC plastisol coating.
• Installed new plastisol-coated roof flashings using self-drilling Tec fixings, with close-cell synthetic filler at ridges and eaves and colour-coded caps on all fixings.
• Encapsulated the parapet between the rotunda and workshop roof, extending existing rainwater outlets and uPVC drainpipes to improve discharge into the eaves gutters.
• Overclad parapet capping panels to match existing colour.
• Thoroughly cleaned 700mm-wide eaves gutters and installed new Plygene thermoplastic liners, along with new outlets, stop ends, and balloon guards for downpipe inlets.
• All works completed in full compliance with health, safety, and CDM regulations.
