European Mezzanine Systems

European Mezzanine Systems (EMS), specialists in designing and manufacturing bespoke mezzanine flooring systems, instructed us to refurbish the roof of their 10,000 sq ft facility in Wolverhampton. The priority was to deliver a high-quality roofing solution with minimal disruption to daily operations.

The existing asbestos chrysotile roof required removal and replacement to meet current safety and energy standards. In addition, the client wanted to improve thermal performance, enhance natural lighting, and resolve ongoing issues with faulty gutters — all while ensuring day-to-day business activity could continue without interruption.

Our team developed and implemented a detailed health and safety plan, ensuring the protection of both staff and contractors. The works included:

• Safe removal and disposal of the old asbestos roofing.
• Installation of 120mm insulated composite profile sheeting panels, achieving a U-value of 0.16 W/m²K.
• Addition of 0.4mm plastisol-coated outer weathering sheets for strength and durability.
• Installation of GRP triple-skin rooflights to improve natural daylight within the facility.
• Replacement of faulty gutters to provide reliable and efficient water management.
• The project was completed successfully through careful planning and clear communication, meeting all client requirements.
