Neptune, a leading UK lifestyle and interiors brand, instructed us to carry out a comprehensive roof refurbishment to the warehouse section of their Head Office facility in Swindon. The key objectives were to improve insulation performance and maximise natural light, enhancing both energy efficiency and the internal environment.

The existing asbestos roof system no longer met modern performance standards. It posed safety concerns for staff and contractors, as well as environmental challenges during removal. At the same time, Neptune needed to future-proof the facility by improving thermal performance and natural daylight levels, contributing to an improved EPC rating.

Our team implemented a complete strip and resheet solution, with careful handling of asbestos to prioritise health, safety, and environmental responsibility. Waste transfer notices were provided to ensure correct disposal procedures.

The refurbishment works included:

• Installation of a 0.7mm white polyester liner sheet.
• Placement of a 240mm insulation wool layer, achieving a U-value of 0.18 W/m²K.
• Supply and installation of 0.7mm plastisol-coated external roof sheets.
• Incorporation of Class 1 internal and Class 3 external GRP rooflights to maximise natural daylight.
• Installation of membrane-lined single-skin galvanised gutters to enhance water management.
• The outcome was a new, compliant roof system that improved energy efficiency, increased natural light, and supported Neptune’s long-term sustainability goals.
